Course description:
While innovative business models of firms such as Tesla, Amazon or Facebook have disrupted industries, most start-ups do not survive the first contact with a customer. A solid business model can make or break the success of start-ups. This course provides a comprehensive structure of how to think about, analyze, and develop a sound business model. Who are our customers, what value proposition are we offering and what resources do we need, are only a few of the questions addressed in this course. These questions will be discussed based on recent business cases. Moreover, students will identify business ideas and develop their own business models. Creative strategies such as design thinking will be applied for the validation of business model hypotheses. Finally, students will pitch their business models in the university’s innovation lab.
